Let’s recap: This is my review about “Fourth Wing” (does not contain spoilers)
Fourth Wing fell flat for me. Violet’s love story with Xaden was childish and rushed, there was no real connection. I thought “wait when did she fall for him” where was the depth of this relationship?
“A dragon without its rider is a tragedy. A rider without their dragon is dead” Okay… but why?
Also, can we please have some background on the characters, give me something to attach to.

So, let me tell you how this series miraculously appeared on my for you page on TikTok. I’m a fan of BookTok, but to be honest, it has let me down more often than not. I caved and bought the second book with the sprayed edges after seeing all the hype on TikTok. Then I ended up buying the first book with the sprayed edges as well. The cashier raved about it, claiming it was so good that she got a tattoo because of the book, so of course, I was excited. However, my excitement quickly turned into disappointment after reading the first book and then the second. I mean, seriously, TikTok had people reacting to the last hundred pages? I couldn’t care less about this book. The first one offered nothing beyond a rushed love story and characters with no depth or development (the dragons were the only highlight). The second book was just a never-ending cycle of “I can’t trust him because of this and that and blah blah.” If the character of Violet had been more thoroughly explored, maybe the author wouldn’t have had to waste so many chapters trying to tell us how Violet feels.
I highly doubt I’ll ever read the third book. If anyone is interested in taking the sprayed edges copies off my hands, please let me know.
